The Coming Incivility War

In a recent interview on CNN, Hillary Clinton said:

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about… That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.”

Now, I understand that politics can get ugly, and that’s unfortunate. Anyone who dares enter the political landscape had better be prepared for misrepresentations and dirty tricks, slimy deals and back-stabbing colleagues. But what has historically been little more than mud slinging is now becoming even more than character assassination; it’s getting dangerous.

In the above-mentioned interview, Clinton referenced the “swiftboating” of John Kerry. She also talked about the “lies” the “right wing” told about her. But in both of these cases, including others she mentioned, we were dealing with wars of words. Even if lies were told (and I certainly don’t believe all the stories about her were lies), lies should have been expected – it’s politics… dirty, old-fashioned political theater.

But ever since Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, politics-as-usual has become a thing of the past. No longer is it acceptable to have a conversation; words have been exchanged for screams toward the sky and door-banging. When Hillary lost, the old way of doing things had to change and a new norm had to be established.

Even if Donald Trump is guilty of saying racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, or Hillaryphobic things, what about his words justified violence as a response? Even if Trump disagreed with everything every Democrat ever stood for, does that justify threatening every Republican’s life?

Hillary said, “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” but how many conservative college professors called for the castration of Democrats? How many conservative comedy writers rejoiced at the thought of at least ruining somebody’s life? How many conservative school employees have asked when someone was going to “take one for the team” and kill somebody?

With all the violence, threats, intimidation, calls for attacks, death threats, and physical assaults meant to disrupt the lives of American citizens just going out to dinner or walking to work, how are the above words any less disturbing than anything Trump was accused of saying that supposedly promoted violence?

You see, regardless of your political persuasion…regardless of how you felt after the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh…where will ending civil discourse and the mature, adult-like exchanging of ideas lead? Where will you draw the line? What if you don’t win the next election, will you up the ante and resort to armed conflict?

That’s the way lots of other socialists around the world have done things. Why shouldn’t I be nervous?

I fear for America.

In December of 1941 the Japanese decided to end talking, resulting in the awakening of the “sleeping giant” Admiral Yamamoto feared. My question to the liberal and angry left is this: What kind of giant are you about to awake?

Even though so many of us saw what we believed in, some of our most treasured biblical institutions, assaulted by the Obama administration, we remained civil and kept our fight within the realm of discourse. We didn’t call for attacking Democrat representatives every time they went out to eat. Yet, amazingly, there are people who call themselves Christians who side with this new Democrat strategy. They evidently have no problem with the call for incivility and continue to support the people who endorse it.

I don’t understand.

Who is the author of confusion? Would the Prince of Peace identify with those who harass and intimidate? It would seem to me that Jesus is not behind incivility and terroristic threatening, so why would His followers condone it?

America survived a Civil War, but will we survive an Incivil one?

A Doctrinally Worthless Bumper Sticker

Dear blogger friends,

Have you ever had so much to write, but being sleepy, tired, worn out and ready for bed kept you from it?

Have you ever wanted to launch into the deep waters of controversial topics only to realize the sails of your little boat were too tattered to catch the wind?

Well, that’s about how I feel right now. I’m tired, sleepy, and I need to get up early in the morning.

However, I saw a bumper sticker today that really got my goat, so I have to say something.

You see, just tonight I was going through a small book that was given to me by a Muslim “apologist,” and my head is still spinning from all the twisted scripture he used to “prove” his obscenely ignorant arguments. The former Baptist converted to Islam, then he wrote a book meant to “prove” that Jesus never claimed to be God nor died on the cross.

If there was one verse taken out of context, there were ten. If there were ten times he made ignorant inferences, there were a hundred where he proved nothing more than that he never studied the Bible as a Baptist, much less as a Muslim.

Maybe, just maybe, if this man had spent more time in the Word of God studying what it actually said instead of being caught up in some social or racial “gospel,” he might have never fallen victim to the foolishness he now believes.

And that’s where the above bumper sticker comes in… It’s about the most useless attempt at profundity I’ve ever seen; it makes no sense whatsoever.

You may think that “Jesus [loves] Feminists” is a wonderful truth, but let’s take a moment or two to unpack it.

First of all, Jesus loves feminists. Yes, He does.

However, Jesus also loves prostitutes and murderers, so what’s the point?

Jesus loves sinners, and that’s why He went to an old, rugged cross to suffer and die for the sins of the world. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Are feminists sinners? Is that what they’re saying?

Or, is the bumper sticker implying that Jesus loves feminists, but not chauvinists? Is it saying that Jesus prefers tree-hugging egalitarians over traditionally conservative complementarians? Does Jesus love some people and not others? Is that the point?

On the other hand, maybe it’s simply trying to say that Jesus loves feminists, also. Like, Jesus loves the chauvinists, the complementarians, the macho men, AND the feminists.

If that’s the case, then Jesus loves everybody, right? So what’s the point of the bumper sticker?

Unfortunately, the above bumper sticker does nothing glorify the love of Christ. All it does is pander to those who need to be affirmed.

Truth is lost in ambiguity; the reader learns nothing.

What a doctrinally worthless bumper sticker!

I did say I was tired, didn’t I?

And just for fun… watch “What it’s like to date a feminist in 2018.”  https://www.facebook.com/allieCRTV/videos/1986330614991509/

The Elephant In the Kavanaugh Hearing Room

My friends, we are going to disagree on different things, and whether or not Justice Brett Kavanaugh should be on the Supreme Court of the United States is probably one of them. Some (well, a few) people I highly respect think voting for Judge Kavanaugh to be confirmed is insane, and that we should at the very least be doing an additional FBI background check into the allegations of rape as presented by Dr. Dianne Ford.

Then, there are others like myself who think it’s insane to believe that the whole fiasco being spread across the airwaves and social media is an example of the worst Washington, D.C. has to offer those who are pro-life, support traditional definitions of marriage, and did not vote for Hillary Clinton in the last presidential election.

However, one thing has been an integral part of both testimonies: ALCOHOL.

Let me go on record, if I haven’t already, by stating that I do not believe it is biblical to categorically claim that consuming beverage alcohol is a sin; there is no scripture that says it is, only those of which some may attempt squeeze out an implication (they eisegete rather than exegete). However, there is plenty of scripture that clearly spells out the dangers of unwise consumption and abuse of alcohol, all of which is sinful and destructive.

For just a moment, would somebody stop praising Dr. Ford for being a brave victim while I back away while I temporarily back away from defending the qualifications of Judge Kavanaugh? Why were these people allowed to publicly consume alcohol when they were teenagers? Why did Kavanaugh’s upper-crust high school yearbook glorify teenage drunkenness like it was a right of passage? Where were all the adults when all these supposed drinking parties took place?

Who drives their 15-year-old daughter to a party where alcohol is going to be consumed and then does nothing about it when she comes home smelling like booze?

What is so wonderful about teenagers knowing the names of drinking games?

And, Judge Kavanaugh, you were proud to remain a virgin until marriage, but nowhere in your study of Scripture was it obvious that drunkenness could lead to situations in which you might find yourself asking, “What did I do last night?”

Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has conflicts? Who has complaints? Who has wounds for no reason? Who has red eyes? [30] Those who linger over wine; those who go looking for mixed wine. [31] Don’t gaze at wine because it is red, because it gleams in the cup and goes down smoothly. [32] In the end it bites like a snake and stings like a viper. [33] Your eyes will see strange things, and you will say absurd things. [34] You’ll be like someone sleeping out at sea or lying down on the top of a ship’s mast. [35] “They struck me, but I feel no pain! They beat me, but I didn’t know it! When will I wake up? I’ll look for another drink.” [Pro 23:29-35 CSB]

Guilty or not, the elephant in the room is the foolishness of those who think alcohol played no part in this. It did – big time. And the footprints are trackable through the ruined lives who abused the stuff.

The Indignation Seems Misplaced

A Monday-Morning Opinion Piece:

I am amazed by so much these days. Even though you’d think I’d know better, especially because I see it all the time, I still find myself in utter amazement at what I read in the media.

“A majority of voters now believe Bret Kavanaugh is guilty.”

How in the eighch ee double hockey sticks is that possible???

Oh, that’s an easy one… the media wants people to believe he’s guilty. The political and social left runs the media, so that’s all the public is going to hear – he’s guilty.

But it doesn’t seem that long ago that a Democrat by the name of Bill Clinton was accused of far worse things than forcing himself on a girl at a drunken party. As a matter of fact, President Clinton was actually accused of rape, pure and simple. Oh, and it wasn’t just one woman who made that kind of claim.

If 36 years is not too long ago to request an FBI investigation when there is very little – if any – evidence to warrant it, then why not launch an FBI investigation into the claims of Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broaddrick?

One person (Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY) asserted that Judge Kavanaugh must be guilty because he is not calling for an FBI investigation on himself! Well, did Bill Clinton? Uh, don’t think so.

And what about all the supposed shaming of female victims of rape and abuse? Are those in the media too young to remember the term “bimbo eruptions”? That was the term used by Hillary and her team in the 1990’s to describe the regularity of accusations against Bill Clinton. And each one who made an accusation was summarily attacked and destroyed.

Hillary is widely quoted as saying: “These women are trash. Nobody’s going to believe them.”

The media loved Bill.

Hey! You folks in the #MeToo! movement! Is there a statute of limitations on enabling a serial abuser?

Honestly, what I see in the news regarding Judge Brett Kavanaugh is nothing but sickening. Not because I sense that he’s guilty of anything, but because of the hypocrisy of those calling for his lynching. If Judge Kavanaugh had only been a Democrat and was sure to approve of killing babies in the womb, he would have had no problem getting approved.

The media would have been worshipping at his feet.

But if Bill and Hillary Clinton had been Republicans – and let’s not forget about Sen. Ted Kennedy and a certain dead girl in his submerged Oldsmobile – we would have heard calls for the death penalty.

So, in my humble opinion, I think the indignation of the left is sorely misplaced.

I’ll Never Run for Office

By now you’ve probably heard of the accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. It has been alleged that he sexually assaulted a woman (Christine Ford) more than 35 years ago while in high school.

What makes this so frustrating is that no one in their right mind would want to belittle or scoff at any woman’s claim of being assaulted, yet the circumstances surrounding the release of this information is patently suspicious. The indignation shown by Kavanaugh’s political adversaries at the suggestion the release of the accusation at this particular time is nothing more than a political stunt is rather laughable – except it’s not at all funny.

It has become known that Dr. Christine Ford (the accuser) has been very active in promoting liberal causes and the political left. It is also obvious that what supposedly happened 35 years ago could have been brought to the attention of authorities at any time during Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s rising career, one that has had to endure six FBI background investigations (count them – SIX!) and multiple U.S. Senate confirmation hearings. But now that Kavanaugh is poised to become a key personality on the Supreme Court, coincidentally right before a potential shift in congressional control, an accusation of assault comes out.

So, yeah, I’m not the only one who is skeptical.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh shook President Trump’s hand, so he must be the worst person in the world. Obviously.

Which brings me to the point of my writing this morning: I’ll never run for office.

No, even though I’ve considered it in the past, I will never put my name in the hat for any political office – my closet has too many skeletons. Oh, don’t be too shocked. What kind of things did you do when you were young? Did you ever get into a schoolyard brawl? Did you and your sweetheart ever get into an argument? Did you ever get a speeding ticket? Did you ever get angry and accidentally hurt someone, even slightly?

If you did any of the above, then odds are – according to Left – you’re a lawbreaking abuser with an unpredictable temper unfit for public office. If you run for office, or if you’re nominated for any critical position in government, people from your past will come out of the woodwork to accuse you of things you don’t even remember, and that in itself will be a testament to the fact that you are cold and uncaring, blind to the wounds you cause others.

It was in first grade I threw a rock on the playground and hit a girl. It may or may not have been an accident, but I can’t remember. As punishment, I was called into the Superintendent’s office and made to apologize, then was told to give her a hug and a kiss to prove I was sorry. That was in 1972. Should I run for office, I’m sure that the story would come out that I assaulted a young girl and then participated in unwanted sexual advances. Even more, I would then be made to answer questions about why I did not report me being asked to sexually assault the young girl. I wouldn’t doubt that an investigation would be launched into the private school I attended, and any other related offenses would be linked to me because I had never publicly opposed them.

I was only 5 or 6 years old, but who cares? That’s politics. And I didn’t even tell you what happened when I was a teenager!

And that’s why I’ll never run for office.

NIKE and My Thoughts

The following is social commentary which some may find disturbing. Proceed at your own risk, but be warned.

By now I”m sure most of you are aware of the new NIKE ad campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick. How could you have missed it?

If you know about it, I’m sure you’ve already established an opinion, and that opinion is probably based on what you already thought about Colin Kaepernick’s taking a knee during the playing of our national anthem.

The whole NIKE controversy centers around something Kaepernick says: “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.” In response, besides people burning their NIKE shoes and gear, folks on the internet have created alternative graphics featuring the photos of other people, such as Chris Kyle and Pat Tillman.

As stated in a CBS News story, the message of the ad campaign is pretty simple: “The spot’s universal theme is about athletes pushing for bigger dreams. It features young athletes who compete amid various challenges, touching on issues of gender, disabilities and weight loss, among others.”

And I guess that’s a noble theme because, after all, there’s nothing wrong with praising people for pushing through tough challenges to reach their dreams. But what does that have to do with believing in something so much you might even have to sacrifice everything?

And what is “everything,” anyway?

Essentially, what did Colin Kaepernick actually give up?

But let’s stop for a moment and move this in a different direction. What about the whole reason for kneeling in the first place? Are all police corrupt and intent on murdering anyone of color? Not all cops are white, you know. Heck, just this week I had a wonderful conversation with a black deputy who works with kids at a local high school. Is he the reason people are taking a knee?

Oh, I know, it’s all the white cops who are killing black men, right? Yeah, that’s it. That’s why our country is so bad. That’s why so many are taking a stand by not standing for the National Anthem.

But what about Planned Parenthood? What did the founder, Margaret Sanger, believe about blacks? What color of babies die most often in their clinics?

And the police are the problem?

I can think of a couple hundred officers who died while doing something they believed in on September 11, 2001. They sacrificed everything for total strangers. And, honestly, I could introduce you to scores of officers and deputies in my own county where I serve as a police chaplain who put their lives on the line every day for something they believe in.

You know, every time I hear the arguments for kneeling, specifically the race-related ones, I can’t help but remember those African-American heroes who flew in the Red Tail Squadron, those Tuskegee airmen who battled FAR more racism and bigotry to become some of the best pilots who ever defended this country during wartime. To loosely quote what I heard one of them say not too long ago in response to the whole kneeling thing,

“You have that right, but only because of those who fought and died to defend it. We may have our problems, but there’s no better country in the world. If you think it’s better somewhere else, you’re free to go there – which in its self is a freedom many don’t have.”

The Tuskegee Airmen didn’t take a knee; they took to the skies for the country the loved.

Yet, after all I’ve written, what if every policeman was corrupt? What if Colin Kaepernick is the best example of bravery?

There’s still someone who we’d all be better off emulating.

Instead of a football helmet and millions in lost contracts, He wore a crown of thorns and had a stone for a pillow. He could have been king of the world, but they called Him “King of the Jews” and crucified him on a real cross, not just one in social media.

And yet He said, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s” (Luke 20:25).

He also said:

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. – Matthew 5:44-45

Look, NIKE can use whomever they want in their ad campaigns. But I have a strong suspicion that if we would only choose some better heroes – like ones who actually DID sacrifice everything for what they believed (did anyone say Dietrich Bonhoeffer?) –  commercials like the one with Kaepernick wouldn’t even be an issue.

Maybe a better observation would be this: Make sure what you believe in is worth sacrificing everything.

Even Mondays Are Made By God

Today is Monday, but I guess you knew that.

Coffee always helps.

Coffee always helps.

How did you wake up? Was it with a sense of dread? Instead of turning off the alarm clock that woke you up, did you strike it like a mosquito that had been buzzing around your head for an hour?

I don’t like Mondays any more than you. As a matter of fact, Mondays are pretty rough. Mondays should be my day off, but I am (was) what they call a bivocational pastor; therefore, my alarm clock feels like a mosquito, too.

However, the Psalmist (David) says…

This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalm 118:24

Today…this Monday…every Monday…this is the day which the Lord has made. As a matter of fact, He has made every day. So, what will we do? Will we bemoan the blessing of waking up? Will we cry “foul” even before we enter the game? Will we start the day with the expectation that Monday will be like every other Monday?

This day was made by God. He knows what He is doing. Nothing will come our way that God is not already planning to use for our good – for those who love Him.

Today you may face a storm that leaves you feeling abandoned by God. You may feel like the disciples who were out on the Sea of Galilee all night fighting winds and waves. You may think that your Savior has forgotten you. Just remember that even in the worst storm, on the worst day, Jesus knows where you are.

When the time is right you might even get an invitation to surf the waves of adversity (Matthew 14:27).

So, rejoice! Be glad! Seize the day! It’s been custom-made for you!

Movies We Should Make!

Noah

noah-280314I know, you’ve heard about all you want to hear about Noah, the unbelievably un-biblical movie meant to be a slap in the face to Bible-believers everywhere. That’s why I am not going to give you any commentary; you’ve probably read it all by now.

One thing is for sure (and this movie proves it in spades), whenever you go to a movie you’re likely to be disappointed if you think the screen adaptation is going to be as good as the book. Seriously, how often are movies as good as the books they are loosely based on? About the only ones I can think of are the first Narnia movie (Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe) and the version of A Christmas Carol that had George C. Scott in it. That’s about it.

Noah’s story, as found in the Bible, is perfectly exciting. It is full of all the things that make a great movie a great movie: drama, action, animals, exotic locations, suspense, larger-than-life sets, and colorful characters. It even has its share of death, destruction, pathos, and the miraculous. So why change all of that? Why trash the written account in order to create a fictitious, over-the-top, insulting flop?

Knoahk-offs (Knock-offs)

Maybe it’s time we go ahead and make more movies using the Noah template? Instead of calling these new movies knock-offs, we could call them knoahk-offs! I mean, why not take the stories atheists and humanists know and love and turn them into evangelical sermons?

Let me see if I can come up with a few ideas off the top of my head…

  • The God Delusion (by Richard Dawkins).
In this movie, a must-see by Dawkins’ fans, Yahweh actually sits down with Little Richard (the singer) to compose a musical called “The Delusion of Unbelief.” In this unique creation (pun intended), God describes Himself to the world as a loving, sacrificial Sovereign that wants to open the eyes of unbelieving vegans.
  • God Is Not Great (by Christopher Hitchens).
This movie version of a classic by the late, great Hitchens will have audiences rolling in the aisles. God Is Not Great is a Christian comedy featuring the humorous, yet humble side of the Creator. Movie attendees will laugh along with God as He mocks those who deny His existence and get a kick at how He plays practical jokes on unsuspecting, self-deluded college professors at UC Berkeley.
  • Harry Potter (by J.K. Rowling).
Atheists and lukewarm Christians everywhere love the Harry Potter series of books and movies, but a remake was inevitable. Yes, a truly accurate depiction of the books (with some creative license, of course) will be brought to the screen. Instead of witchcraft, Harry will be filled with the Holy Spirit, lead Hermione (who played in Noah) to the Lord, get married, attend Moody Bible Institute, then start Hogwarts Baptist Church in Herefordshire, UK.

So, what do you think? I don’t think anybody will be offended, do you? Freethinkers should applaud trashing the writings of their favorite authors, don’t you think? I mean, at least that’s what people are saying we Christians should do with Noah.

If Darren Aronofsky can create a Noah “for the 21st century,” there’s a lot more stories needing an update.

Can you think of a few?

If Trump Was Who They Claim

Before I get going on the list of things I need to do for this Saturday, including things like hang curtains, record a sermon for tomorrow’s radio broadcast, deliver cookies to every house on our “street of the week,” work on tomorrow’s sermon, and brush my teeth… I want to pen/type down a thought that’s been on my mind for a few days.

What if President Donald Trump was really the Hitler-esque dictator many on the left claim he is? What if he truly was as horrible of a man as the one who started the whole “Heil [Me]!” thing?

Oh, do you think I’m making this up? Do you think my accusation that the left wants to compare Trump to Hitler is hyperbole? Do this: google “Trump like Hitler,” then click on “images” in the toolbar. That should prove my point. The image to the right came from Pinterest.

Nevertheless, what if Trump was really like Hitler? How would things be different?

  • Instead of separating families at the border and keeping them in facilities with bedding, air-conditioning, and food, they’d all be killed at the border. Shot. Lined up, if caught, and mowed down like grass – children and all.
  • Every reporter from CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, and the long list of newspapers, blogs, and television talks shows would be arrested, along with their families, taken to holding facilities, then eventually gassed, burned, worked to death, or just hanged or shot. No freedom of the press. No heckling Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
  • No Hollywood celebrities would have the freedom to curse the President in public or express how they’ve thought about burning down the White House (Madonna) and live to see the next day.
  • Every person of color (because Trump is supposed to be racist) would have all their possessions confiscated, themselves arrested, and they would be systematically eliminated in the most efficient ways modern technology would allow. No more uprisings…no more calls for the secession of Texas and California…no more marches… All would just be sent to the furnaces. Whole cities like Detroit and Baltimore would be ghost towns, just like all those little villages in Poland.
  • Same-sex marriage? Yeah, right. Remember, not only did Hitler attempt to eradicate the Jews, he had homosexuals put into concentration camps, too. No more parades in San Fransisco.
  • Religious freedom? Nope, none of that either. Not unless you worshipped Trump (of course you could worship God, but He would have to become a lesser god who also supported Trump). Anti-Nazi ministers were arrested, imprisoned, and killed, no matter their religion.
  • There would be no Americans with Disabilities Act, that’s for sure. Hitler called for the elimination of all handicapped persons, too. As a matter of fact, they were often used as guinea pigs for medical and science experiments. If Trump was Hitler, there would be no more need for Shriner’s hospitals, the March of Dimes, or any colored ribbon supporting any disability.
  • Essentially, those who say they live in fear of Trump would know a terror like they’ve never experienced.
  • Russian collusion? Hitler would do that? And make peace with North Korea? By now he would have nuked their butts and been done with it.
  • And here’s a really funny one… Moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem – like THAT would have been a Hitler-like move.
  • Oh, and all that taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem stuff? Are you serious?

My point is this, folks: Donald Trump is not Adolph Hitler. Grow up.

This has been my politically-incorrect vent of the month … or quarter … or whatever.

A Helpful Heave for Hump Day

Hump hill

It is Hump Day (i.e., Wednesday).

So, besides using the Paint program on my computer to draw the amateurish illustrative you see above, I have also compiled a creative collection of encouraging encouragers which may help heave your heavy heart over Hump Hill.

10 Reasons to be Glad It’s Wednesday

  1. At least it’s not Tuesday.
  2. Going uphill works muscles you use all the time; going downhill works the other ones.
  3. Oh, Monday is now two days in the past!
  4. Wednesday night is prayer night at many churches. That means tonight you can finally vent and feel spiritual at the same time.
  5. If you’re reading this that means your power hasn’t been shut off. Yay for you!
  6. People don’t like you? That’s OK! The people still liked Jesus on Wednesday, and look what happened to Him by the time Friday rolled around. It’s Wednesday, but it could be worse.
  7. If you like Wednesdays, it’s only 7 days (or 6, depending on your time zone) till the next one! Yippee!
  8. Unless you’re using it as a metaphor for impending doom, or unless you’re brakes have failed, you just fixed your hair, or there’s a swarm of bees ahead, going down hill can be fun!
  9. It’s easier to coast on a bicycle and yell “Look Ma! No hands!” when you’re going down a hill. Take advantage of the week winding down to lift your hands in praise! …Just be careful when you’re tempted to say: “Look at me!”  Pride (and stupidity) often precedes a fall…that’ll ruin the rest of the week.
  10. And lastly… Sunday is that much closer! Hallelujah!!

So, HAPPY HUMP DAY! At least it’s not called “lump day,” right?
