The President Is a Feminist. He Said It, Not Me

The President of the United States wrote a lengthy and heart-felt essay for Glamour magazine. In it he…

Vintage Obama, per the Glamour essay.

Vintage Obama, per the Glamour essay.

Stop and think about what I just wrote, OK? The leader of the free world, arguably the most powerful man on Earth (arguably), just wrote a lengthy essay specifically for Glamour. Is there nothing about that very thought that turns your stomach, or am I the only one who feels that way?

Anyway, President Barack H. Obama wrote a lengthy, heart-felt essay for a women’s magazine…

I mean, handbags…holographic fingernails…makeup…”weed” tampons (I’m not joking)…outfit ideas…Kris Jenner’s closet…and not to mention dating and sex advice…and this is the one place the President choses to submit an essay? I just don’t get it.

Where have all the men of this country gone to? Where the heck are they going? What was the purpose of this lengthy, heart-felt essay?

President Obama took the time to submit a lengthy, heart-felt essay explaining how he, the President, is a feminist.

Gag.  Me.  With.  A.  Spoon.

What Women Want?

Besides earning brownie points with all his Hollywood BFF’s, Obama made it clear his feminism has set the standard for what all girls should expect out of a man…a world leader…a petty dictator…and all fathers.

“Michelle and I have raised our daughters to speak up when they see a double standard or feel unfairly judged based on their gender or race—or when they notice that happening to someone else. It’s important for them to see role models out in the world who climb to the highest levels of whatever field they choose. And yes, it’s important that their dad is a feminist, because now that’s what they expect of all men.” – President Barack Obama

God in heaven help us. Whatever happened to “where the men were men and the women were glad of it“?

A Few Points

First, however you want to define it, the most important thing for a daughter is to have a godly, consistent, faithful, wife-cherishing provider who will charge hell with a water pistol in order to protect his little girl. She doesn’t need a mom-jean-wearing pansy who’s just “one of the girls.” Daughters need a father who’s a man, a real man, and not ashamed of it.

Secondly, I certainly hope the women of the future wise up, because if a feminist is all they expect out of a man, there are going to be a whole lot of disappointed females looking for love in all the wrong places.

Third, the biblical model for manliness is one of ultimate self-sacrifice and total, unwavering faithfulness. It is one that sets the highest standard for unconditional love and respect. Mr. Obama, if you really, really cared for your daughters and all the women of the world you would point them toward God’s design for men and women, not Gloria Steinbeck’s.

Now, I think it’s time for a Clint Eastwood movie.

A Battle Worth Fighting

Many times, especially as a parent, I’ve had to determine which battles to fight and which ones to just walk away from.

Then came Friday the 13th, 2016.

Well, because our family has been directly affected by predatory sexual abuse, this is a battle I will fight.

Please watch the attached video from ADF. Then, be bold and fight along with me – for our daughters.

The Bathroom Controversy: It’s Not that Simple

My Two Cents

I have to drop my two cents into the toilet (dropping them into the urinal would mean I might have to take them back).

Seriously, I feel compelled to share my thoughts regarding the current debate over allowing transgender and transexual individuals into the bathroom of their choice, and not necessarily the one which corresponds with their anatomy.

It might even turn into 3 cents.

What You’re Not Hearing

People are giving North Carolina all kinds of grief over HB2, the law that requires one who uses restrooms in public buildings and rest stops to choose the one which corresponds to the individual’s sex at birth (or what’s on the birth certificate). Bruce Springsteen cancelled a concert; Paypal cancelled plans for a facility; and a whole bunch of politicians in other cities banned public employees from going there on public money.

I’m sure you’ve all heard about it by now, especially since President Obama has now sent a prime directive to all public schools and universities.

But what you’ve probably missed is that it’s not just about a guy who’s had a sex-change operation going into a woman’s restroom, or a young person who is totally convinced he is a she and looks and dresses the part to perfection.

It’s not just about the teenage girl who’s won the legal right to be called a boy because she’s always lived as one, dressed as one, and thought she was one.

It’s not even about the psychological term Gender Dysphoria (a mental disorder) which describes most of the above.

No, it’s about the fact that a small percentage of society are doing their best to render any traditional classification of gender and sexuality irrelevant. It’s about eroding any taboos regarding erotic behavior and forcing morality to conform to the image of immorality. This is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, and yet is not washed from its filthiness (Proverbs 30:12).

It’s not about the less than 1% of society having a safe place to relieve themselves; it’s about the rape of morality and common sense: “We’re going in, no matter what.” And when there’s no more fight left, they’ll just grin and move on to another ideological victim.

The Camel In the Tent

Do you remember the story about the camel (or it could have been a horse) that wanted to come inside the tent? He was cold, so he asked his owner to allow him to come into the tent where it was warm. The owner refused, but that’s when the camel said, “Oh, please! What about just my nose? How bad could that be?” Long story short, once the camel’s owner allowed the camel to stick its nose inside the tent, the head came next, followed by the neck, then the front legs, and then the whole body.

All we hear in the news is that transgender and transexual students are being denied their civil rights. They say it is wrong that these pitiful folk should be harassed by being made to go into the bathroom or shower which corresponds to their anatomy.

But it’s FAR more complicated and convoluted than that! Do you seriously think that once you’ve let the transgender/transexual nose into the bathroom the rest of the gender-confused will be denied? Of course not!

If you think it’s just as simple as male/female/trans, think again!

The following are a consolidation of the 56 (yes, 56!) gender options offered by Facebook. You can read the whole article at Slate.com.

1. Agender/Neutrois — These terms are used by people who don’t identify with any gender at all—they tend to either feel they have no gender or a neutral gender. Some use surgery and/or hormones to make their bodies conform to this gender neutrality.

2. Androgyne/Androgynous — Androgynes have both male and female gender characteristics and identify as a separate, third gender.

3. Bigender — Someone who is bigender identifies as male and female at different times. Whereas an androgyne has a single gender blending male and female, a bigender switches between the two.

4. Cis/Cisgender — Cisgender is essentially the opposite of transgender (cis– being Latin for “on this side of” versus trans-, “on the other side”). People who identify as cisgender are males or females whose gender aligns with their birth sex.

5. Female to Male/FTM — Someone who is transitioning from female to male, either physically (transsexual) or in terms of gender identity.

6. Gender Fluid — Like bigender people, the gender-fluid feel free to express both masculine and feminine characteristics at different times.

7. Gender Nonconforming/Variant — This is a broad category for people who don’t act or behave according to the societal expectation for their sex. It includes cross-dressers and tomboys as well as the transgender.

8. Gender Questioning — This category is for people who are still trying to figure out where they fit on the axes of sex and gender.

9. Genderqueer — This is an umbrella term for all nonconforming gender identities. Most of the other identities in this list fall into the genderqueer category.

10. Intersex — This term refers to a person who was born with sexual anatomy, organs, or chromosomes that aren’t entirely male or female. Intersex has largely replaced the term “hermaphrodite” for humans.

11. Male to Female/MTF — Someone who is transitioning from male to female, either physically (transsexual) or in terms of gender identity.

12. Neither — You understand this one: “I don’t feel like I’m fully male or fully female. ‘Nuff said.”

13. Non-binary — People who identify as non-binary disregard the idea of a male and female dichotomy, or even a male-to-female continuum with androgyny in the middle. For them, gender is a complex idea that might fit better on a three-dimensional chart, or a multidimensional web.

14. Other — Like “neither,” this is pretty self-explanatory. It can cover everything from “I’d prefer not to specify how I don’t fit in the gender dichotomy” to “My gender is none of your damn business, Facebook.”

15. Pangender — Pangender is similar to androgyny, in that the person identifies as a third gender with some combination of both male and female aspects, but it’s a little more fluid. It can also be used as an inclusive term to signify “all genders.”

16. Trans/Transgender — Transgender is a broad category that encompasses people who feel their gender is different than their birth sex—sometimes known as gender dysphoria. They may or may not choose to physically transition from their birth sex to their experienced gender.

17. Transsexual — Transsexual refers to transgender people who outwardly identify as their experienced gender rather than their birth sex. Many, but not all, transsexuals are transitioning (or have transitioned) from male to female or female to male through hormone therapy and/or gender reassignment surgery.

18. Two-spirit — This term refers to gender-variant Native Americans. In more than 150 Native American tribes, people with “two spirits”—a term coined in the 1990s to replace the term “berdache”—were part of a widely accepted, often respected, category of gender-ambiguous men and women.

Let me summarize this nonsense. If I, a grown man with children, decided I felt like I had a few female feelings, then I could literally walk unabated into a women’s locker room, disrobe, and stroll into the open showers, genitalia showing, and have the full force of Obama’s Justice Department backing me up (more like spooning).

“But that’s crazy!” you say. “Someone would stop you.” Oh, really? And whom would that brave soul be? Should you stop me, then I would sue you for violating my civil rights. Who are you to judge me by my looks? Technically, I’m a Native-American (really, I am), so how could you say I’m not Two-spirited? Even more, it’s all about how I self-identify, right? So if I claim to be Gender-fluid, how can you tell by the way I look naked? What would that matter, anyway?

Have you ever seen the movie Starship Troopers? Remember the shower scene? That’s where we are headed if this lunacy is not stopped. The only difference is that this isn’t science fiction; it’s reality.

Here’s the naked truth: When nothing’s sacred, NOTHING will be sacred. That much is simple.

Pax Romana vs. Pax Obama

Tipped Over

If I was a tea pot, like the red one sitting on my kitchen stove, there would be a long, tall stream of steam shooting skyward out of my head – or at least sideways out of my ears.

IMG_9903The time that our current president has been in office has been the equivalent of turning up the burner under the pot a notch at a time. Each year he has turned the dial, cranked up the heat, and slowly but surely caused my emotions to boil.

The whistle from the kettle hit full pitch when I heard from Sec. of State John Kerry that our sailors were released by the Iranians as a result of “negotiations,” which are meant to make us “safe” and “strong.”

Bovine excrement!

Whatever happened to the America I love? Whatever happened to projecting power and authority? Whatever happened to “peace through strength”? All we have now is capitulation through cowardice. It’s time this little teapot pour out what’s inside before I explode!

Pax vs. Pax

Long ago, from around 27 B.C. till around 180 A.D., when Rome was the world power, they managed to maintain a “miraculous” amount of peace. This long and unprecedented time was called the Pax Romana, or “Roman Peace.” Among other things, it ensured its citizens of safe travel, safe access to trade, and just treatment under the law. But what brought about this peace, and what maintained it?

The peace of Rome was maintained with fear, pure and simple. However, the kind of fear that kept the peace was not the kind ISIS is famous for. No, the fear that kept this peace was the understanding that breaking the law had consequences. No matter who you were, or how powerful you were, the rule of law was supreme. Pax Romana epitomized the concept of “rule of law.”

For example, in two different cases the Apostle Paul was treated unjustly by local officials, but then used fear of Roman law to make his persecutors tremble. In Acts 16:35-40 we read of where Paul had been beaten and jailed. When the magistrates of Philippi sent word through a jailer that Paul and his team could be released, Paul would have none of it.

“But Paul said to them, ‘They beat us in public without a trial, although we are Roman citizens, and threw us in jail. And now are they going to smuggle us out secretly? Certainly not! On the contrary, let them come themselves and escort us out! ‘ “ – Acts 16:37 HCSB

When the magistrates got the word, they were greatly afraid and did exactly what the Apostle Paul asked. Why? Because what they had done could have cost them their lives. You just didn’t treat a Roman citizen that way!

The peace of Obama is maintained by bowing, cowering, capitulating, appeasing, and selling our people down the river. Seeing pictures of our sailors on their knees, hands over their heads, and surrendering their weapons to an enemy that shouldn’t have been able to get within a thousand yards of them is supposed to make me thankful for a nuclear agreement with Iran…but it only makes me steam!

This frame grab from Tuesday, January 12, 2016 video by the Iranian state-run IRIB News Agency, shows detention of American Navy sailors by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the Persian Gulf, Iran. The 10 U.S. Navy sailors detained by Iran after their two small boats allegedly drifted into Iranian territorial waters around one of Iran's Persian Gulf islands a day earlier have been freed, the United States and Iran said Wednesday. Had it been Roman sailors (with satellite, air, and naval support), negotiations would have never been necessary. Iran would have rather back-stroked scratched and naked in a pool of Great White sharks than humiliate the most powerful military in the world.

But we have Obama, not “Romana.” So let us drink tea.

In Response To Our Glorious Leader

It Is Written

By now most of you have already watched or listened to President Obama’s tearful speech announcing his new executive mandates regarding guns and background checks.

Since he specifically mentioned the “gun lobby” and “the lies” they supposedly tell, I thought it fair to post this video, not just on Facebook and other social media, but on my blog as well.

On Paper?

In his speech Mr. Obama said that he understood we have certain rights because they are written down “on paper.” Interesting, especially coming from a self-acclaimed Constitutional professor, don’t you think?

Our rights are not written on “paper,” but on parchment – and it’s called the Constitution of the United States.

I feel sorry for those who took his classes; they probably didn’t learn much.

The Tree Meaning of Christmas

I would like to thank President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for reminding us that the true meaning of Christmas is not what most Christians have thought.

clip-art-charlie-brown-christmas-tree-charlieNo, according to our President and First Lady, the message of Christmas (and Charles Shultz’ “A Charlie Brown Christmas”) is that tiny trees just need a little love.” Jesus has nothing to do with it.

Believe it or not, if we look at the “original” translation of the prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah, we will see why the Obamas believe this.

“For unto us a seedling is born, unto us a tiny tree is given: and the government shall be upon its branches: and its name shall be called Woody, Conifer, The mighty Balsam, The evergreen Fir, The Prince of Pine.” – Isaiah 9:6

You see, we Christians have gotten it all wrong. Christmas is not about the birth of “our Saviour, which is Christ the Lord;” it’s about the birth of a seedling in need of nurturing and decorating, which will bring peace on earth and goodwill toward men.

Again, just read this version of the Christmas story and you’ll see how other translations have gotten it all wrong.

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a seedling, which needs to be loved. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the twig wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger made of his dead relatives.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” – Luke 2:8-14

Thank you, Mr. President! You’ve changed everything!

A Leader Leads

I don’t think much needs to be said that hasn’t already been said. Nothing I say will make much difference in the big scheme of things.

photo (62)However, in the light of today’s news that President Obama finally….finally….FINALLY requested that all American flags be flown at half-staff, I thought I would step out and take a picture of the flag flying half-staff in front of the church where I pastor.

It has been flying that way since Thursday, July 16…the very same day that a terrorist killed 4 Marines and mortally wounded a Sailor in my city of Chattanooga.

If a leader leads, who was the leader?

You tell me.

Looks like God’s house didn’t need the White House telling us what to do.

Steve Jobs shows off iPhone 4 at the 2010 Worl...

Steve Jobs – Dead

Steve Jobs – What a great example of how someone can take an idea and run with, make billions, and still make the world a better place. He will be missed. The sad thing is that no matter how much money you make, it won’t buy life.

A fellow blogger (The Seeking Pastor) mentioned this morning how that when he learned of Jobs’ death the thought crossed his mind, “I never prayed for him.” That was convicting, for neither did I. But right after that, the thought crossed my mind, “And even with all his riches and technology, he couldn’t live a day longer.”

The Psalmist said, “My days are like the evening shadow; I wither away like grass”– Psalm 102:11 NIV. The wealthiest among us are no different than the poor. Let this loss be a reminder to us all that “death is no respecter of persons.” I hope Steve was ready. Our condolences to his family…and Apple.

Wall Street Protests

What a  great example of people who protest and complain without having the slightest idea what they are doing or how they’re being used.

The irony of all this is that they decry Wall Street and big corporations, but then rely on the very devices created by the genius of capitalism (i.e., iPhones, Blackberries, and iPads) to promote and transmit their vitriol .

I love what Herman Cain said about these people, “Don’t blame Wall Street, don’t blame the big banks, if you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself. It is not someone’s fault if they succeeded, it is someone’s fault if they failed.” AMEN!

Obama’s Job’s Bill

Oh, the irony is getting deeper.

Steve Jobs dies…People without the jobs they want protest the people who make jobs…President Obama promised jobs, and promised jobs, and promised jobs.

It seems that the only sure-fire way to create jobs is to raise him from the dead. Maybe Mr. Obama will suggest that in his next (one of a thousand) job-creation news conferences.
