Wherever the Good News is spoken …

Learning From God's Word

“Wherever the Good News is spoken in the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her” (Mark 14:9).
The Good News tells us about Christ’s love for us. It tells us about what Christ has done for us. It also calls for our response to His love, our response to what he has done for us.

  1. The Idea of worship and admiration is lived out by her, a years wages spent on worship. I think that speaks for itself.

May I suggest for another Op a review of the christian principles found in this speech.

John 12:1-11 King James Version (KJV)
12 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
    10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

Getting back to this story, its clearly about worship, but more than that. There is a chill in the air when Jesus was in the boat and calmed the storm. There is a chill in the air when Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead.
Other healing came with the same sort result with some, some coming back to thank him, but others just cutting and running.

There are two types of people, this is the valley of decision. When we are faced with Jesus, raising the dead, do we, seek to kill him because he is taking our control out from under us. Do we do that to successful people in our church. OR do we recognize God working, with awe and a chill comes over the place and we worship God because of who he is.

It turns out Jesus is not a nice guy we put on cards at Christmas. He is almighty God. He is in the boat, he is at the tomb, He is in our hearts, and he is here right now. He deserves all our praise, our respect and our service.
