I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. – Psalm 138:2 KJV
I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. – Psalm 138:2 NIV
What is worship? Is it something that you do, or something that you feel? Is it a verb, or a noun?
Worship takes on many forms in modern culture, many of which could be questionable. On the other hand, what true worship is should not be dictated by culture, personal preferences, or traditions. True worship should not be stained with legalism.
What is your definition of worship? Do you have a biblical foundation for your definition? Is your worship limited to a predefined model used by others?
Do you bring glory to God with your worship, or does “self” receive more honor? Who or what is the true object of your worship? How can you be sure?
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” – Revelation 5:12 NIV

Ps 29:2. It is acknowledging any truth about God.
Good post, friend! Worship is ultimately about God. It’s not about us. People tend to restrict worship to singing songs in church, but worship involves far more than that. Worship is an expression of our love, reverence, and adoration for God. While the form of worship may change with cultures, times, and situations the object of worship – the Lord – does not. True worship will shape us into Christ-like witnesses!
